2027 Signature Leadership Community Impact Project Proposal

Leadership Lake County delivers dynamic learning experiences and leadership development for 35–40 rising and established leaders who live and work in Lake County. Each class includes participants from the private, public, and nonprofit sectors, creating a rich environment for interdisciplinary learning. A core goal of the program is to prepare participants to give back through leadership roles on nonprofit and public boards and by actively engaging in the community. An essential element of the Signature Program is the strong Community Impact Project (CIP).

Each year, the class selects 4–6 projects from community proposals. Teams of 6–8 leaders collaborate with selected agencies to complete these projects over an eight-month period (September–April 30th). The projects culminate with team presentations at the program’s closing retreat in May, highlighting their process, learning, and impact.

We invite you to submit a project proposal for consideration by the Leadership Lake County Class of 2027. These projects provide mutual benefit—addressing community needs while offering participants hands-on leadership experience.

Project Criteria:
* Must require leadership—not just labor.

* Fundraising is not the primary focus. Any fundraising must not exceed $2,000 and only for materials directly related to completing the project.

*Must meet a clear organizational need and have a strong direct, visible impact/strong on the Lake County community.

*Must include strong measurable outcomes.

*Project must be sustainable beyond Leadership Lake County’s involvement.

*Project Proposal Deadline: Sunday, August 23, 2026.

*Final Projects Selected: Friday, September 4, 2026. You will be notified of the status of your project by September 4, 2026.

*Mandatory Project Planning Meeting: If selected, a mandatory planning meeting will be held Friday, September 25th from 12pm-1:30pm at Punderson Manor in Newbury, OH. Failure to attend will result in the project being dismissed from consideration. Please mark this date on your calendar.
